Golda Mae Escalante

Golda Mae Escalante | General Manager

With nearly two decades of experience working in both the heart and front of the house, I currently serve as the General Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Lompoc-Central Coast. I started my career as a disc jockey and newscaster for an FM music radio station after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication major in Broadcast Journalism. I sit on several Boards including the Leadership Lompoc Valley and I serve as the Board Secretary for the Lompoc Tourism Business Improvement District.

The secret to me having such a happy life is about what I do outside of work. I can carry a tune, burn up the dance floor or simply sleep in for 15 hours! I’m a passionate amateur chef and a checklist ninja. I am lucky enough to go to Hawaii almost every year, feeding and fueling my need to enjoy tropical weather all year round. I know in my heart that one day I will move there, together with my husband Trin and my beautiful princess, Kiana (which means ‘Island Princess’ in Hawaiian).

I am so fortunate to work with a wonderful team that believes in having fun at work and providing legendary top-notch guest service. I enjoy team members who believe in doing quality work and whose personality makes it easy to come in and enjoy every day.

In a world without hotels, I would be: A Disney singer or a newscaster

Bruce Skidmore

Bruce Skidmore | Area Director of Sales & Marketing

My name is Bruce Skidmore and I am the Area Director of Sales and Marketing. I started washing dishes in an Italian restaurant in Valley Forge, PA as a teenager and that is where I was bitten by the hospitality bug. I have spent over 30 years in various sales and marketing positions since then. I love working in Lompoc because the weather is great but most importantly the people I have the pleasure of working with at the hotel – their teamwork and attitude is inspirational. As for favorite restaurants in the area, Eddie’s Grill on North H Street is the best - great Tri-Tip sandwiches and wonderful salads. I like to spend my free time with my wonderful wife and our cat but after that, both road and mountain cycling, as well as hiking, are my passions; anything that gets me outside. In fact, if there was a world without hotels, my profession would be a professional bike racer. Working in the hospitality industry means moving often, I have moved 12 times in my 30 years in the industry. We are now where we want to be working with the people and a company I really like for the long term. A few fun facts about me -I played the violin as an elementary school student (I wanted the banjo but was overruled). I also played first team rugby all through high school, college at Penn State, and a few years after for a few clubs.

Jessica Jose

Jessica Jose | Director of Sales

My name is Jessica Jose and I am the Director of Sales at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lompoc. I have been in the Hospitality Industry for almost 3 years. I previously worked for IHG Hotels and I started off working as a Front Desk Agent, and then gradually worked my way up to my current position. I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio where I also met my husband of 7 years. We have a Tabby Cat adopted from the U.K. named Brucie, and a Fox Terrier Dog named Doree. I like working in Lompoc because of the rich history and things to do. In Lompoc, there are a variety restaurants with good food. My favorite restaurant is Suvan’s Thai Restaurant. They serve up some really good authentic Thai Food, as well as Chinese and Vietnamese Dishes. The weather in Lompoc is warm, and the surrounding area is beautiful. The team here at the Embassy Suites is a smaller and tight-knit group. Each person is talented, unique and a pleasure to work with. My favorite hobbies include hiking, travelling, photography and antiquing. In a world without hotels, I would be a professional travel blogger. My favorite places to visit include the Scottish Highlands, Scotland and Thingvellir National Park, Iceland.

Judy Cadengo

Judy Cadengo | Revenue Manager

I've been in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years and have worked for multiple full-service Hilton family hotels in Southern California. I'm a Cali girl and have lived here my whole life. I have experience primarily in the rooms division departments, including; front office, reservations, sales, and revenue management. Revenue management is my passion! I help the hotel manage rates, inventory, and provide all forecasting. It's exciting to help drive top line revenues for the hotel. In Temecula, we have the advantage of being one of the few full-service hotels and enjoy offering those extra amenities that some of our competitors can't, like our famous made-to-order full breakfast! During my down time I am a mother of two teenage daughters, Vianca and Isabella. We like to travel and do weekend getaways. They keep me on my toes! When I'm not with my kids I spend time with friends and family. I come from a pretty large family and we have social events all year long. This year I'm planning a Disney cruise for my daughters and I during summer vacation. One more thing off the bucket list!

Shawn Johnson

Shawn Johnson | Front Office Manager

My name is Shawn E. Johnson. I am the Front Desk Office Manager of Embassy Suites by Hilton Lompoc. I have been in the hospitality industry for just over 13 years and love it. My experience is nothing shy of housekeeping in my early teen age years, scheduling employees, overseeing inventory, greeting clients, managing staff, and making it my personal mission that every client enjoys their stay to the fullest. As you can see, I've worn many hats in the industry before settling into my new role here at Embassy Suites in Lompoc. My favorite part of working in hospitality is meeting people from all over the globe, from all walks of life, and hearing the stories people share with me.

I grew up in Santa Barbara, CA and moved to Lompoc in the mid-80s. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending church, cooking and being outdoors in nature. In the future, I look forward to spending more time traveling, seeing how other facilities compare to ours and in doing so, learning how to cultivate exceptional services here in Lompoc.

I feel blessed every day to be a part of my family as well as the family here at Embassy Suites. I believe what sets us apart from any hotel in the area is the amazing quality of good people I work with on a daily basis. We are happy, enjoy our work and look forward to sharing that culture with you! In a world without Hotels, I would like to go sightseeing and travel the world!

Manuel Villagomez Chief Engineer

Manuel Villagomez | Chief Engineer

I'm Manuel Villagomez, the Chief Engineer at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lompoc. You're in good hands when you stay with us, I've been in the hospitality industry for almost 14 years - all of them with the Hilton Family. Before moving to Lompoc I lived in Chicago. I love this town because it is small, quiet, and the people are very friendly. When I dine out, I enjoy Mexican and Italian food. My free time consists of spending time with my wonderful daughter Emily Villagomez. Another thing I enjoy doing is playing the trombone in a band.

Isagani Sonny Tabin

Isagani 'Sonny' Tabin | Food and Beverage Manager

My name is Sonny Tabin and you probably know me best as the man behind your complimentary made-to-order breakfast and evening receptions. I have worked in the industry for about 20 years and am looking forward to many more! I've been at the Embassy Suites Lompoc for the entire time, and couldn't imagine a better place to work. I moved to Lompoc in 1989 after living in Manila and Hawaii, and I absolutely love the city for the beautiful weather, peacefulness, cost of living, and the scenic Central Coast views. Many guests don't realize how close the coast is, and how quickly you can access everything in the city. I really enjoyed Thailand's street food when I visited, and Thai food has been my favorite ever since. Being close to the ocean is great because you can get fresh seafood. I like to accumulate as much free time as possible and then use it all at once on a big trip - I want to try to see the world when and while I can. I am a quick learner who does my best to keep active, stay busy, and am always on the lookout for adventure.

In a world without hotels, I would be: A Jack of All Trades
